What is Faecal Microbiota Transplatation (FMT)
FMT - Faecal Microbiota Transplatation - is a medical procedure wherby stool from a healthy donor is transplanted into the recipient's gastrointestinal tract to restore a balanced and diverse intestinal microbiome.
FMT is primarily used to treat recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) that does not respond to standard antibiotics. FMT is also indicated for other gastrointestinal disorders related to an imbalance in the intestinal microbiome.
